Having seen recent posts on painting wheels, I’ve decided my much abused Ford Focus needs a little love, and I want to repaint the wheels. I’d like something other that standard silver. White is not an option, as they’d look filthy in an instant. Any suggestions?

I’m thinking maybe a dark gra y?

Dark Bronze is always a nice looking subtle choice for a blue car:

Yellow. Rally car yo!

Maybe just try black. I have an old black Corolla and the silver wheel covers got trashed and one got lost. I sanded and primed the old rusty steelies underneath and shot them with some gloss black  industrial Rustoleum. Looks a lot better. Much more tidy even without those busted up wheel covers.

A metallic dark gray would look nice. A Bronze would look OK too I think?

Man a ZX3! I had an 01 with a 5 speed t hat I loved and put 150k miles on it. I ended up giving it to one of my younger brothers that needed a car and he totaled it 3 months later.

It is one of only 2 cars I regret getting rid of, the other was a 76 Dodge D200 extended cab with a 440 magnum in it.

Ah you asked a question though - I think dark grey would look good against that color and would hide dirt and brake dust fairly well.

White would probably look good, especially w/ the stock 5-spokes. I’d reconsider it as an option.

I wouldn’t mind white, but I drive a lot for work, sometimes on unpaved, gravel roads (thanks, Michigan). I’d wear the paint off, with the constant washing of the grime & dirt.

I’m not sure about dark gray, but I agree with and 100 more, white would look excellent here, though I understand your wear and dirt concerns. Bronze would be my second choice, and that should show a lot less dirt.

go with a metallic dark grey/ anthracite. Hides brake dust well and looks generally clean even when surprisingly dirty.

plastidip - easy on and easy off when you decide you don’t like your first color choice (or you just get bored)

and I vote bronze or anthracite based on my buddy’s blue brz similar to Long_Voyager’s pic
